Boston Celtics: 3 takeaways from C’s dominant win in Denver
Boston Celtics takeaway No. 3) What’s next?
The C’s have passed test after test, beating almost every other playoff team they’ve faced since the turn of the new year. Wins over Memphis, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Golden State, and now Denver should signal that the Celtics are in fact a title contender.
With that being established, what’s next?
It seems surreal to see the team firing on all cylinders considering their start to the season, but they’re a completely different team than they were months ago.
What else do they have to prove?
They have their fair share of difficult games in the last ten of the year, including facing Utah and Minnesota at home, while having to travel to Toronto, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Memphis, but Boston has a good chance of winning all of those.
No opposition has found a consistent way of scoring on the league’s best defense, and, come playoff time, their defensive intensity will increase even more.
Boston’s third-quarter play over the past week or so has been a bit suspect, as they’ve let up on teams coming out of halftime. That type of cushion won’t exist in April and May, with every game meaning that much more.
On offense, with Tatum making little to no mistakes, effortlessly beating the double team night in and night out, it’s hard to pick against these Boston Celtics.
They’ll have their difficulties against Milwaukee and Miami, along with Brooklyn and Philadelphia, but Boston is on par, if not better than all of them.
This turnaround has left Celtics fans speechless, amazed with how enjoyable this team has been to watch over the past 30 games.
What a run!
