Boston Celtics player No. 2) Grant Williams
Payton Pritchard may be considered one of the most promising youngsters on this current Boston Celtics team, but many have argued that Grant Williams is the most promising of the bunch.
Thanks to his unbelievably efficient shooting abilities, sound defensive chops, and underrated strength, the third-year forward has been able to diversify the lineups rolled out by first-year headman, Ime Udoka, which has allowed the team to play all sorts of different combinations.
Through 65 games played, the quasi big man finds himself boasting career numbers seemingly all across the board, averaging 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, one assist, and just shy of a block on nearly 48 percent shooting from the floor and 42.5 percent shooting from deep (the best mark on the team).
While he may have come into the season viewed as a potential “odd man out”, so to speak, as the year has churned along Grant Williams has proven himself to be an integral part of this team’s rotation, and has even been described as the Boston Celtics version of P.J. Tucker which, for true basketball fans, this is considered to be quite a compliment.
It is because of his continued progressions as a shooter, defender, and high-energy difference-maker that we believe that Grant Williams has absolutely managed to earn the right to a roster spot come 2022-23.
