Boston Celtics: 2 surprise players who could be left out of playoff rotation

The Boston Celtics are playing lights-out during this second-half stretch in the 2021-22 campaign, boasting an overall record of 41-28 which, in turn, has them slated to reach their eighth-straight postseason.

Despite getting off to a rather slow start to the campaign, since the calendar page flipped to January the shamrocks have been one of, if not the best team in the entire league, going 24-9 from the start of 2022 on.

From the MVP-level of production put forth by franchise cornerstone, Jayson Tatum, to the copious amounts of underrated contributors found within the rotation, Boston is gearing up for what they hope to be a long playoff run and, with how they’ve been clicking of late, it’s almost certain that many of their conference rivals are hoping to not see them in the big tournament.

Now, for the most part, the team has seven players that they can easily rely on to take on quality minutes throughout a contest and who most likely will be seeing ample playing time come the postseason.

However, generally speaking, a team always wishes to have a deeper arsenal at the ready to utilize throughout a campaign, as it gives the coaching staff more options to work with and more variations of lineups.

As we inch closer and closer to the playoffs, we’ll begin to see Ime Udoka’s lineups become more concise and consistent with its personnel and, while there will be a few players found fighting for a chance to be a part of the C’s core rotation, we at HH believe that there could be 2 surprise players who, in the end, may wind up not making the cut:
