A ton of buzz was seen generated heading into Sunday’s matinee game against the Mavericks for, not only was it the day that former Boston Celtics superstar big man, Kevin Garnett, would have his jersey raised into the rafters at TD Garden, but it was also a studly matchup between rising superstars Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic.

Despite a valiant effort from the shamrocks, it was Dallas who wound up coming away from their road tilt with a win, squeaking away with the final score reading 95-92.

While the outcome may not have been what many had hoped to see, Sunday’s matchup proved to be as entertaining as advertised, with all the stars shining bright on the world’s most famous parquet court.

Mavs star, Doncic, went on to record a near triple-double of 26 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds on a highly efficient 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc while Tatum and co-cornerstone, Jaylen Brown, managed to combine for 35 points to go along with 16 boards and eight assists.

Unfortunately, however, their shooting efficiency–particularly down the stretch where the shot just 5-for-18 in the second half–was a major deterrent to an otherwise impressive showing.

Alongside the dynamic duo, we saw six other players log double-digit minutes, many of whom produced quite admirably for the C’s.

In the end, however, it was Dallas who shined the brightest in regard to role-player production, and, ultimately, wound up winning because of it thanks to a clutch closing-minute trey by Spencer Dinwiddie (18 points, four assists, five rebounds).

That being said, again, there were still some noteworthy performances put forth by Boston’s supporting cast and, with this in mind, we would like to discuss 1 stud and 1 dud from the team’s win-streak halting loss to the Dallas Mavericks:
