Boston Celtics offseason target No. 3) Julius Randle

Perhaps the biggest reach of the three, Julius Randle is another name the Boston Celtics should be monitoring this offseason.

Let’s face it, the New York Knicks are a complete and utter mess.

Fresh off a surprising playoff appearance last year that was led by Randle, they’ve come crashing back down to earth. They have talented players on their roster, but the pieces aren’t working.

The big man is their best player, and his talents should not go unnoticed, even on a struggling Knicks team.

So why should Boston be in on him?

It’s fairly simple: Randle is easily the best player of the three mentioned today of him, John Collins, and Christian Wood.

His stats certainly show for it, as he’s putting up 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. He’s had a down year, but a great deal of that is due to New York’s dysfunction.

It would be a reach acquiring Randle. There is still hope that the Knicks will be able to turn their current situation around, and balancing out their roster around him appears to be the current plan.

That said, giving the Jays another weapon in Randle who can stretch the floor and score with ease could potentially turn out to be the best Big-3 they’ve had since the days of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett.
