Boston Celtics player No. 1) Nik Stauskas

Prior to getting the call to sign on with the Boston Celtics late last week, former lottery selected wing, Nik Stauskas, was contemplating the idea of calling it quits on his basketball career after struggling to find a spot on an NBA roster all year long, finding himself shuffling around the G-League, and having not received more than a 10-day contract from an organization since the 2018-19 campaign.

Now, after having inked a two-year deal with the shamrocks, his pro-ball journey continues, though for how long will likely be determined by the type of production he puts forth during the final stages of this season.

While the contract he signed has the multi-year moniker attached to it, 2022-23 is a team option, meaning that, should he not show signs that he can benefit this ball club during these final few months of action, be it with boosting morale on the sidelines or with solid play on the hardwood when called upon, the front office could simply just cut ties with him this offseason.

With the fact that he was taken eighth overall back in the 2014 NBA Draft and that he was absolutely dominating with the Grand Rapid Golds earlier this year (23.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists on 48 percent shooting from the floor and nearly 42 percent shooting from deep), it’s quite evident that Stauskas has the potential to be a serviceable role player in this league.

Now, in what could be his final bid at an NBA career, he has to go out and prove this with what limited time he may be able to come across.
