The Boston Celtics entered the night looking for their fourth straight win and it would not start as an easy conquest against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets.

As far as injuries go, the only notable players on the shelves for both teams were Aaron Nesmith, who was still sidelined with the ankle sprain, and Gordon Hayward, who has missed substantial time with a high left ankle sprain.

Both players were seen on the sidelines in street clothes.

The C’s and Hornets would engage in a back and forth affair for most of the first quarter. This would change when Beantown would lock in defensively and hold Charlotte scoreless for nearly five minutes.

Jayson Tatum got off to an uncharacteristically (for this season, at least) quick start, leading Boston in the opening frame, while Ball was struggling and ultimately was sent to the bench early for a familiar face.

Said face was former Boston Celtics star, Isaiah Thomas, who saw significant playing time in the second quarter, but it did not move the needle much for Charlotte.

Boston saw themselves leading at the break by a score of 52-48.

The second half was where Boston started to really take the game into their control and make it a statement win.

Once, the fourth rolled around the outcome was never in doubt. C’s blitzed the Hornets 115-101 but the lead reached as high as 20 at one point.

JT wowed the Hornets crowd with a 44 point matinee for the Celtics, while Robert Williams added a double-double of his own with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
