When it comes to this upcoming second-half stretch, no team is heading into it hotter than the Boston Celtics.

Fresh off a nine-game win-streak that was halted in the outing right before All-Star weekend, the C’s come into their return to action having been winners of 17 of their last 24 games, while also sporting a stellar 10-3 record since January 23rd.

Keeping in mind that they found themselves constantly dipping below a .500 record through the first couple of months of action, this flip of the switch type of production is all the more impressive and, with how Brad Stevens and co. played their cards at this year’s deadline, it’s rather likely that their winning ways are bound to continue moving forward.

Not only did Boston snag a few quality role players in the form of Derrick White and Daniel Theis this trade season, but they also managed to free up a total of five roster spots and, while four of them have already been filled, only two are consisting of players attached to deals spanning the rest of the season, meaning that there are still plenty of ways in which the front office and experiment with bolstering the rest of the team’s rotation come season’s end.

Now, because of these openings, fans and media pundits have seemingly been non-stop with their takes on who the shamrocks should look to target with their vacated rotational spots and, just recently, the folks at Hoops Habit got in on the action by discussing 3 potential buyout candidates that they believe should be on the team’s radar.

Since being published, one of the proposed players has been scooped up by a rival Eastern Conference squad, but two still remain as potential options should they part ways with their current employers between now and March 1st which, in turn, sparked our desire to push out yet another installment of our favorite series we call “Pass or Pursue”, where we discuss whether or not the Boston Celtics should sit out on going after a specific player or if they should actively try to acquire them.

So, without further adieu, let’s get started:
