The Boston Celtics have opened up a ton of roster spots now that the trade deadline has come and gone.

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens continued his pattern of returning past players, but also made a huge splash for a first-time Celtic at Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. Daniel Theis is the latter, with Derrick White being the exciting former.

There is optimism around the fanbase that the team’s recent win streak could have its momentum carried over to the post-trade deadline roster. I mean, there could be goals set even higher for this team than simply avoiding the NBA Play-in like they didn’t a year ago. This is one damn talented roster Stevens put together.

But he may not be done.

Brian Robb of MassLive came out with a list of several Cs reunion signings he could imagine going down given all of the roster spots available for Stevens and co. after the two aforementioned trades and his clearing of both Bol Bol and P.J. Dozier from the books…and a very notable name is on there:

Which reunion signing should the Boston Celtics make?

In total, we have two point guards and three forwards, but of course, the weight of this list lies in the inclusion of one Isaiah Thomas.

Dennis Schroder’s inclusion in the Daniel Theis trade certainly opens up minutes for Payton Pritchard, but why not have Thomas on hand? Alternatively, Brad Wanamaker serves as a familiar figure in the Cs locker-room in the backcourt. The ‘Jays’ know they will be fed with Wanamaker at the 1.

Gerald Green would provide wing depth in place of Romeo Langford’s departure, while Luigi Datome and Jonas Jerebko are overseas stars that played on the team in 2015, and in Jerebko’s case, until 2017.

Thomas and Wanamaker would be the most ideal returns, but you know the TD Garden would just hit different with the king of the fourth, the five-foot-nine messiah, the former MVP candidate Isaiah Thomas back in Boston.
