The Boston Celtics could look to the Houston Rockets to get a trade done

The trade deadline is today and the Boston Celtics need to make a move.

One trade I wouldn’t mind seeing would be a Celtics-Rockets deal in which Boston adds their much-needed shooter, as well as a return of a former player.

The trade I’m proposing would be Eric Gordon and Daniel Theis for Al Horford and Dennis Schroder.

This trade could be beneficial for the two teams in separate ways.

For the C’s, this trade adds the much needed shooter without destroying the team’s chemistry.

Shooting wise, Gordon would be a great fit for Boston. He’s a career 37 percent shooter from deep, but this season he’s shooting 43 percent. Not only can he hit the 3-ball, but he’s also shooting nearly 50 percent from the field on ten attempts a night.

Chemistry-wise, the Boston Celtics would be swapping former player for former player.

Al Horford for Daniel Theis.

With being in the league for six years, Theis has spent four of them with the Celtics. He’s already spent plenty of time playing with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, but this time around they’re significantly better than they were back then.

Not only were the Jay’s on those teams with Theis, but starting point guard, Marcus Smart, was as well.

In regard to Houston, they get some veteran leadership for their young team.

Right now, the Rockets are sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference with a record of 15-39. This past draft, they had the second overall pick, in which they took Jalen Green.

So far in his first NBA season, the rookie is averaging 14 points on 38 percent shooting.

With the veteran leadership of Horford and Schroder, the Rockets would be able to help Green get some much-needed leadership, as they have one of the youngest teams in the league.

Houston obviously isn’t looking at a “win-now” type of team, so getting rid of two players wouldn’t be the worst move, especially if the goal is to try to trade for some leadership for your young rookie star.
