Do you smell that, Boston Celtics fans? We are just one day away from the NBA trade deadline, which is back to being in February after taking place in March in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Luckily for Cs fans, this won’t be a sad one. Boston is humming, having won their sixth game in a row against the Brooklyn Nets last night. Oh, and by the way, it was a biblical blowout against a team that was missing all three of its stars. Kyrie Irving was one of them because of Kyrie Irving reasons.

Things are good for the Cs. There will be no selling off of pieces. There will be no talk of trading Jaylen Brown away after a 22-point, nine-assist, seven-rebound performance in just 28 minutes.

What there could be talks of? Going all-in.

The Cs are just 4.5 games off behind the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat. Keeping this run going could create momentum that bleeds into the postseason. The sky could be the limit after that with the ‘Jays’ coming into their own as All-Stars.*

*Jaylen Brown is a 2021-22 All-Star in the Houdini’s book.

So with that in mind, we cooked up three all-in trade deadline moves for Brad Stevens and co. to consider:

Why the Boston Celtics do it

The center position cannot afford Robert Williams going down. It’d force Al Horford into heavy minutes that he might not be able to handle, and could force Enes Kanter to play big minutes, compromising the Cs defense in the process.

Jusuf Nurkic is worth giving up a first-round pick for and especially worth giving up their Evan Fournier TPE for.

Why the Portland Trail Blazers do it

C.J. McCollum, Robert Covington, and Norm Powell have all been traded. It’s a fire sale in the Rose City.
