With the Boston Celtics having won six in a row, the calls for a massive trade have quieted significantly ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

Well, for most pundits, anyway.

WEEI’s Greg Hill has an idea in mind that he feels the Boston Celtics should go ‘all-in’ for, and it includes taking advantage of one of the many frustrated franchise stars across the league.

Hill’s plan? Throw everything and the kitchen sink at the Brooklyn Nets to land James Harden:

"If I were Brad Stevens, I would throw everything I possibly could at that deal to get him,” Hill said."

He reportedly wants this because he feels that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the ‘Jays’ if you will, just don’t click…

"“Sitting here hoping the Celtics do something legit by tomorrow is really frustrating,” Hill said. “You’re sitting there with those two guys, who for whatever reason just don’t click, or can’t get the job done, or whatever it is. You gotta make a big move.”"

This is a terrible idea of several different levels.

Let’s begin with the fact that in the last 14 months, James Harden has twice requested a trade to a new franchise. Last year, Harden held the Houston Rockets over a barrel and forced a deal to the Brooklyn Nets. That led to the Rockets bottoming out, and the team is still in repair.

Now, he reportedly is ‘screaming in every way he possibly can’ to get out of Brooklyn’. That is one of the wildest descriptions of a trade request I’ve frankly ever heard.

Why would the Cs inherit this mess? It’s not as though Boston has been short on drama the past few years.

The Houdini’s other main gripe is trading Jaylen Brown for Harden. Brown would most certainly need to be included in a deal, possibly with draft compensation and/or recently drafted young guns attached.

Brown just may be better than Harden right now, and is most certainly going to be in the coming years. Giving him up for Harden is silly no matter how you slice it.

Mr. Hill, that’s a no for me dog.
