The Boston Celtics are a team making serious strides as of late with their recent level of play, winning nine of their last twelve contests and 13 of their 19 total outings since the start of the new year.

However, even with this recent surge that has the ball club five games above .500 at 30-25 and now stationed within the top-8 seeds in the Eastern Conference standings for the first time in what feels like a millennium, Brad Stevens and co. should still be very much inclined to look to make some roster bolstering moves during these final few days of the 2022 NBA trade season.

All year long we’ve been seeing reports suggesting that the shamrocks are interested in making some deals before February 10th and, with just about 48 hours of separation between now and the deadline, fans are found on the edge of their seats, waiting to hear of any semblance of news saying that, in one way or another, the C’s improved their roster’s talent pool.

While there are certainly a plethora of potential trade targets that are viewed as worthy of a pursuit from the front office, there are really only a handful of players currently under contract with the Boston Celtics that are viewed as legitimately expendable.

With this in mind, we at the Houdini present to you 3 players that we believe are most likely to be traded prior to the passing of this year’s trade deadline:

Boston Celtics player No. 1) Enes Freedom

Enes Freedom‘s return stint with the Boston Celtics has not gone as planned, as the veteran big-man has struggled mightily to find consistent playing time this year, and, when he has seen on-court action, he hasn’t managed to impress the coaching staff enough to warrant any sizeable increases in workload.

Boasting some of the worst all-around averages of his 11-year NBA tenure, the 29-year-old big man is putting up a lowly 3.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in just 11.7 minutes per game.

Now, with this in mind, it’s obvious that parting ways with Freedom would not be a hard decision for the C’s front office to make for, frankly, he’s just serving as somewhat of a waste of space within Ime Udoka’s scheme.

The problem is, however, if they actually look to offload the center, who would be interested in his recent level of production?

Well, in all likelihood, no front office is going to go out of their way to trade for Freedom alone, but we believe that, with his contract being so cost-efficient (one-year, $2.6 million), attaching him and, say, draft capital of some kind to a deal using one of the C’s various TPEs could prove to be one of the more plausible outcomes of this year’s trade deadline for the shamrocks.

In fact, one could argue it’s likely the most realistic trade this front office could go on to make.
