Boston Celtics TPE target No. 3) Tyus Jones

The former Duke standout and Memphis Grizzlies guard, Tyus Jones has connections with Jayson Tatum and would be a perfect pass-first point guard for the Boston Celtics.

The 25-year-old fits into our TPE and would be a great addition to a growing young core with his knack for setting up teammates and primary ball-handling prowess.

Fun fact of the day, Jones holds the record of best assist-turnover ratio in an NBA season.

He’s currently averaging 4.1 assists off the bench to go with only .7 turnovers a contest.

In the 2018-19 season with the Timberwolves, the 6-0 guard posted an NBA record of 6.9 assists to one turnover ratio.

A feat that will not be beaten anytime soon.

The C’s have struggled with valuing the possession of the basketball.

Any new additions to this team that would simply allow for the Jays to not play the de facto point guard role is a welcoming sight.

Tatum and Brown are not point forwards and likely never will be, so another floor general like Tyus should be taking the lead on ball handling/ play-making duties.

He and Marcus Smart could also thrive together as the Duke product is a better floor spacer than Schroder. The seventh-year guard is shooting a swift 38 percent from distance.

Should the Grizzlies decide for a different look with their backup point guard position, the Boston Celtics should be the first ones to come calling.

Next. 3 blockbusters that would make the C's legitimate contenders. dark
