Boston Celtics TPE target No. 2) PJ Washington

The next trade target is PJ Washington, a former lottery pick and stretch four from the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hornets have relegated him to the bench and his talents are not being maximized. The Celtics could use part of the TPE on the smooth-shooting forward.

The 23-year-old is averaging roughly 10 points and five rebounds per game off the bench in only 24 minutes of playing time nightly.

Washington is only 6-7, but has been incredibly effective in small-ball lineups at the five or stretching the floor as a natural four.

The former number twelve overall pick does a tremendous job providing spacing for a team with his 39 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Theoretically, he’s an odd man out in Charlotte, but would be a welcomed addition as a starter at the four or a potential sixth or seventh man off the pine.

We all know how questionable the double big duo of Al Horford and Rob Williams has been this season. Would PJ provide more a dynamic look next to timelord?

Without a doubt.

If the Celtics wanted to deploy him off the bench as a backup small five, then this would mean fewer minutes for a defensive liability in Enes Freedom.

A move that makes us deeper and more versatile on both ends, Mr. Stevens let’s get it done
