Boston Celtics dud: Josh Richardson

Essentially the exact opposite of our take from before, stating that Dennis Schroder’s impact was felt all over Boston’s MLK Day matinee matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, Josh Richardson‘s presence was seemingly nowhere to be found.

Throughout these past couple of months of the season, we’ve seen the veteran wing play some solid brand of basketball, serving as a highly productive two-way commodity for the Celtics and putting up averages of 11.5 points and 2.3 rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the floor and 46 percent shooting from deep over his last 18 games played.

Monday, however, seemed to stray away from this recent stretch for the seventh-year pro as he put up an absolute stinker of a performance.

Having logged just shy of 19 minutes of action on the day, Richardson went on to post two points, five boards, and three assists on an abysmal 25 percent shooting from the floor while missing his lone attempt from long range.

Now yes, while he did also manage to swipe away two steals, these efforts ultimately were mitigated significantly due to the fact that he subsequently coughed up four turnovers.

Now, all in all, Josh Richardson’s performance wasn’t “terrible”, for he still showcased some decent hustle and a willingness to play team-first ball, but we find that, of all the players who played significant minutes against NOLA, we find that the veteran is most deserving of dud of the game.
