Boston Celtics player No. 2) Robert Williams III

2021-22 has consistently been a breakout season for the likes of Robert Williams III and, while he’s looked good throughout, of late he’s managed to show exactly what he can offer this Boston Celtics squad as their franchise big man.

Does he have any elite post-moves or floor-spacing abilities that are highly sought after from big men in the modern-day game? No, but he has a myriad of other traits that make him a truly fascinating player and, in turn, one that the front office should try and hold onto for as long as possible.

Through 32 games played on the season, the Time Lord has been posting career-bests seemingly all across the board as he finds himself averaging 9.9 points, nine boards, 1.7 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game on an incredible 75 percent shooting from the floor.

However, as we’ve already stated, his recent play has gone on to reach even greater heights, as he’s been on an absolute tear since late December, showcasing an impressive combination of defensive chops and distribution skills that truly separates him from the rest of the younger players at his position.

Throughout the last nine games, Williams has found himself putting up stellar stat-sheet stuffing averages of 11.6 points, 10.9 boards, 3.1 assists, 3.6 blocks, and 1.3 steals on 78 percent shooting from the floor.

While he may not be an All-Star the 24-year-old has proven to be an integral stud for this Boston Celtics team and at his price range ($13.5 million on average from next season through 2026), Robert Williams is an absolute steal of a commodity that should be held onto past this year’s trade deadline.
