For the Boston Celtics, as things currently stand 2021-22 is well on its way towards becoming the most disappointing campaign in recent memory, even more so than the one they endured just last season where they went 36-36 through the regular season and were bounced from the playoffs in round one via gentleman’s sweep.

That said, being where we are on the year the C’s don’t have to stay put and continue rolling out the same rotation and crop of talents night after night, for, as we’re sure you’re already aware, trade season is officially upon us.

Between now and February 10th’s deadline, the shamrocks will have the opportunity to make some much-needed shakeups to their talent pool in an effort to better bolster the roster and, in turn, more sufficiently compliment franchise cornerstones Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown along the way.

Of course, over the past several months we’ve already seen numerous ideas being concocted that, to some, would suffice as being quality trade scenarios that should be strongly considered by the franchise.

Heck, we at HH have also taken part in these festivities ourselves and have proposed several deals of our own that we believe could ultimately help the Boston Celtics get out of their current rut.

However, while it’s certainly a fun activity to participate in, perhaps a more vital topic of discussion is not who the C’s should look to pursue but, rather, who they should look to keep.

Now, yes, obviously the Jays should be considered untouchables in virtually every trade conversation but, outside of them are there any players in specific that should also be looked upon as being worthy of holding onto for as long as possible?

Due to where Boston currently finds itself, it’s safe to say there aren’t many players of this ilk found on the roster but, to us, we feel there are 2 specific players that, though it may not be all that obvious, should be kept off the block… at least for the time being:
