The Boston Celtics evened their 2022 record to 2-2 after defeating the New York Knicks at the TD Garden this past Saturday in the second leg of a home-and-home series. That win also evened the season series between the Cs and the Knicks after they blew a 25-point lead two nights prior on an R.J. Barrett buzzer-beater at MSG.

Tonight, they embark on the first leg of another home-and-home, this time against the Indiana Pacers. This series will begin in Boston and conclude in Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Indiana is one of the few teams that already looks unlikely to contend for an Eastern Conference postseason spot despite defeating the Utah Jazz in their most recent contest. That ended a six-game losing steak.

Quite simply, these next two games are must-win games considering the next three games after that will be against teams currently sitting in a playoff slot.

Hardwood Houdini is here to dish out odds, let you know where to catch the action, and lay a prediction ahead of tonight’s home-and-home opener against the Pacers:

Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers odds, spread, over/under

Celtics vs. Pacers prediction

The Houdini is in a bit of a betting rough patch, but we’re backing the boys tonight in getting out of it. If the Celtics can get stereo solid performances from the ‘Jays’, and the bench could provide 30+ points as they did on Saturday, the Pacers’ replacement-level roster should be beatable at just -5.5 at home.

Pick: Celtics -5.5 (-110)
