Potential free agent #1 the Boston Celtics could pursue: Paul Reed

On the Philadelphia 76ers, Paul Reed is buried on a depth chart that features Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond ahead of him. Charles Bassey is also competing for minutes at the 5 and has more time left on his deal.

Reed would be best in an old-school center role, something the Sixers offense isn’t really catered around. The Cs offensive system is different, deploying the similarly non-shooting Robert Williams.

If Philly decides to focus their resources elsewhere than the frontcourt, Reed could be a stealthy steal on the FA market.

Potential free agent #2 the Boston Celtics could pursue: Isaiah Hartenstein

Isaiah Hartenstein may have had the worst timed injury of his career last week when he went down with an ankle injury.

With his contract up this coming Friday, Hartenstein could find himself out of work after filling in admirably for a banged up Los Angeles Clippers team.

If he becomes available, Brad Stevens needs to get the German lefty big man on speed dial.

Potential free agent #3 the Boston Celtics could pursue: Matt Thomas

The Chicago Bulls chose to stick with Alfonzo McKinnie, but will they also retain Matt Thomas? Well, if they don’t the Cs would be an ideal landing spot considering the not-so-smooth NBA transition Sam Hauser has had so far.

Thomas has by and large been shooting the lights out of the ball, though his last performance (0/4 from deep in 12 minutes in a win vs. Washington) may have left an awful taste in the mouths of the Bulls front office.
