Boston Celtics fans shouldn’t be cheering for NBA players to lose their job. They should be hoping that some players get a promotion to the most storied franchise in league history.
This coming Friday, 23 players will have their fate decided by the team that currently employs them.
Boston has Jabari Parker’s minimum deal to decide on. If you asked the Houdini what we think should happen? Let him walk because of a poor roster fit. Committing to the double-big lineup has sapped Parker of significant usefulness.
Not only that but all of these potential free agents could be snagged with Parker’s roster spot:

Obviously, some of these guys are indispensable to their teams and won’t be available. Gary Payton II is most certainly going to remain a Warrior, while the Los Angeles Lakers seem attached to Avery Bradley. Dean Wade likely sticks with the Cleveland Cavaliers considering all of the spot starts he has gotten. Ditto for Deandre Bembry.
