Team that could call the Boston Celtics No. 3) Dallas Mavericks

When a franchise has a player of Luka Doncic‘s caliber, it’s championship contention or bust and, thus far into his career it has been the latter.

Despite having the legitimate MVP candidate on their side, the Dallas Mavericks have yet to get past the first round of the playoffs throughout his, now, four-year career, and now, through their first 36 games of the season, it appears they actually run the risk of missing out on the big tournament altogether if they don’t snap into action and make some much-needed roster shakeups.

Frankly, perhaps the biggest problem the Mavs have is when it comes to offensive creators not named Doncic. Currently ranked fifth in assists per game and fourth in points created off of assists, it’s quite apparent just how involved the 22-year-old is in his team’s offensive production.

However, oftentimes it’s far too apparent that when the All-Star is off the floor the team’s offense tends to become quite stagnant and… well, bad.

It is because of this that they almost certainly will be looking to add on another offensive initiator to their roster at some point this season, and we believe a guy like Dennis Schroder could prove to be a blessing.

Always known as an efficient isolation scorer, the point guard finds himself converting on an impressive 62.9 percent of his unassisted attempts from the field on the year, which would rank third on the Mavericks of those who have logged 300+ minutes thus far.

In possession of a $10.9 million TPE (which, ironically enough, came via the offseason Josh Richardson deal to the Boston Celtics), acquiring Schroder’s $5.9 million contract would be an unbelievably simple endeavor and could prove to be the exact talent-bolstering move Dallas needs.
