Boston Celtics: 3 star trade targets that would save the C’s season

Boston Celtics star trade target No. 3) Karl-Anthony Towns
For years now, Boston Celtics fans have been voicing their opinions about a hypothetical Karl-Anthony Towns trade and, more often than not, the consensus opinion is that he’d be a tremendous fit running alongside the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
We can’t help but agree with this logic and, should the Timberwolves continue to underperform for the billionth season in a row, it could soon become a reality where we see either the franchise shopping him or, perhaps the more likely scenario, the big man requesting out.
Only 26-years-old, Towns has established himself as one of the best centers in the league today and, from a pure scoring perspective, could be argued to be the best.
Despite being stuck with the lowly T-Wolves, KAT finds himself once again dominating as he’s posting stellar per-game averages of 24.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 blocks on 51 percent shooting from the floor and an unbelievable 43 percent shooting from deep.
His game would compliment Boston unbelievably well, for he’d provide an unmatched scoring punch within their frontcourt that would be on full display anywhere from down in the post, out in the mid-range, and beyond the 3-point arc, thus making the lives of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown much easier which, in turn, could have them saving more energy to use on the defensive side of the ball.
By bringing on the center, not only would he help formulate a ferocious Big-3 alongside the Jays for the next several years to come but, with him heading to the shamrocks he’d give the team a formidable big to compete with the other juggernauts at the pivot out East in Joel Embiid, Bam Adebayo, and Nikola Vucevic.
Look, is the concept of the Boston Celtics trading for the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns a bit of wishful thinking? Perhaps but, nevertheless, should he become available this year Stevens should be highly interested in pursuing the big man and, so long as it doesn’t split up the Jays, not only would he help save the team’s season but, frankly, he’d thrust them right back into contention status.
