Christmas day is less than a week away, and thanks to their lackluster level of play thus far in 2021-22 the only present that the Boston Celtics seem to be deserving of is a big lump of coal.

Through their first 31 games of play, the shamrocks have constantly found themselves either submerged under, or just staying afloat above .500 and, as of this writing, they are slotted into the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference standings with their pedestrian record of just 15-16.

Now, a popular method fans and media pundits alike constantly find themselves discussing that could help the Cs get out of their quarter-season rut is to scour the trade market in an effort to bolster their roster around the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Despite the rumblings that suggested Boston may be considering the idea of splitting up their star tandem, recent reports have seemingly put this narrative to rest, as it appears Brad Stevens and co. are now instead of a similar mindset as the fanbase — in other words, they’re rumored to be interested in bringing aboard more complementary talents to help aid in their efforts to rise up the ranks and, in turn, compete for supremacy out in the Eastern Conference.

Over the past several months, we’ve seen and composed plenty of trade ideas that could, in theory, help the Celtics do exactly this, and, with how lowly they’ve been performing of late, it’s the belief of many that they need to look for these kinds of roster shakeups now more than ever.
