Boston Celtics: 3 realistic trade targets to help form C’s next Big-3
By Mark Nilon
Boston Celtics target No. 3) Dejounte Murray
At this point in time, we believe the Boston Celtics should simply be looking to improve their roster in any way they possibly can, regardless of position.
That said, if they were to find themselves in the market for an upgrade at point guard, we at HH strongly believe that Dejounte Murray should absolutely be viewed as their top target.
Currently in the midst of a career season with the lowly San Antonio Spurs, the 25-year-old finds himself putting up stellar all-around averages of 17.7 points, 8.4 assists, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game on 44 percent shooting from the floor and 34 percent shooting from deep.
Unfortunately, however, despite his best efforts the Spurs find themselves down towards the bottom of the standings out in the Western Conference with a record of just 10-16 and, in turn, on the brink of simply blowing up the roster and shifting towards an all-out rebuilding phase.
Should they place Murray on the market, we can only envision a plethora of guard-hungry teams will line up to try and attain him, and the Cs should easily be included here if he becomes available.
A player who seemingly provides a bit of everything when on the floor, a team that could use a bit of everything like Boston should be monitoring Murray’s availability rather closely as we dive farther into trade season.
