Kemba Walker landing spot #3: Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets play a ton of point guards in their lineup in the present day, but none are their $170 million man Jamal Murray. At 14-13, Denver is in a position it hasn’t been in for several years given the rise of Nikola Jokic.

Jokic needs more help, though. With the delayed 2021-22 debut of Murray, due to a torn ACL this past April, and the loss of Michael Porter Jr. to lower back surgery, the Nuggets are woefully short-handed at the moment.

Will Barton is the only other scorer that has surpassed the 15 points per game mark this season, and while Kemba Walker is far from a guarantee to do so–although he has only failed to reach that mark during his rookie season and this one–he’d be a worthwhile gamble for a team that could use someone that can push the pace.

Denver could also use an efficient 3-point shooter, which Walker still is. In five 3-point attempts per game, Walker is converting at a 41% clip in 18 appearances.

With the way things are now, Denver seems like the perfect resurrection spot of Kemba Walker, who is likely not as over the hill as the New York Knicks are making him look.
