Boston Celtics stud: Robert Williams

In all honesty, we almost decided to take the easy way out and slot Jayson Tatum in this section as “stud” for, after all, he truly did have a magnificent performance.

However, while it’s undeniable that he was an absolute unit throughout his 33 minutes of play, frankly, we typically expect the Boston Celtics star to have performances similar to this for, after all, he’s just that good.

Instead, we opted to go with the high-flying big man, Robert Williams III, for the C’s stud of the game, as he was truly a force to be reckoned with for a large portion of the game.

Showing off his unbelievable athleticism, Time Lord was seen jumping out of the arena throughout the first half, snagging high-up lobs and throwing down put-backs with both his left and right hand despite being engulfed by some tight defenders, one of which being Anthony Davis who, in the first, was sentimentally baptized by the fourth-year center.

In just over 24 minutes of action on the night, Williams finished the game with 13 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block on a whopping 75 percent shooting from the field.

Boston’s scheme ultimately shifted as the game went on and the Lakers started to heat up from long-range, sadly forcing them to shy away from getting the 24-year-old involved on the offensive side of the ball but, when they did, he was virtually unstoppable, and the team’s energy was electric.

There were quite a number of takeaways from Tuesday’s performance and, close to the top, is the concept of getting more pick-and-roll plays drawn up for Robert Williams III moving forward.

We already know how impressive he can be as a defensive contributor. Now, getting him more involved on offense could prove to be just as beneficial for the Celtics moving forward.
