Before we collectively stuff our faces with turkey, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, stuffing, potatoes, yams, pumpkin pie…okay you get the idea. Ahead of Thanksgiving 2021, we have a marquee showdown between the Boston Celtics and their 2021 postseason opponent.

Of course, that would be the Brooklyn Nets, who eliminated the Cs in five games en route to elimination in the very next round against the eventual NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks.

Those Nets were short-handed in the Eastern Conference semifinals, and these ones are too. Kyrie Irving is out of the lineup for the foreseeable future due to his COVID-19 vaccination status, while starters Joe Harris and Bruce Brown, and young big man Nic Claxton will all miss Wednesday night’s game as well.

Boston could be short-handed too, with Jaylen Brown and Josh Richardson both listed as questionable at the moment.

So who takes tonight’s first of four matchups between these two teams?

Hardwood Houdini is here to dish out some odds, TV channel info, and a prediction for some Monday NBA action:

Boston Celtics vs. Brooklyn Nets odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a 1.5-point underdog against the Nets at home. Brooklyn is a -125 road favorite, with the Cs moneyline set at +105. The over/under for the game has been placed at 215.5 points.

Both teams are coming into this one having won their last three games, and four of five overall. The Nets are first place in the Eastern Conference, with the Cs sitting three games back in the standings.

Celtics vs. Nets TV channel

Predictably, this is a nationally televised game. ESPN will host the rivalry matchup for fans nationwide, while in-market fans can watch the game on NBC Sports Boston or YES Network.

Celtics vs. Nets prediction

The line dictates this could be a close game, but the pace of this one could go either way depending on the kind of nights guys like James Harden, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum and (if in uniform) Jaylen Brown have.

The Houdini likes the Cs with plus money considering the absences in the Nets starting lineup and what should be a rowdy homecourt advantage on a night where fans will be indulging a tad more than usual with the holiday tomorrow.

Pick: Celtics ML (+105)
