Rockets veteran #2 Boston Celtics should pursue: Danuel House

Danuel House was once a key member of the Houston Rockets rotation, starting in 52 games during the 2019-20 season while averaging 30 minutes per game. Even in 2020-21 House was in the first five 23 times in 36 appearances.

Now, House may not have a role considering the youthful presence of the likes of Jae’Sean Tate, Jalen Green, and Josh Christopher on the wing. Making under $4 million, House is someone that could be acquired for cheap, especially considering 2021-22 is a contract year for the Houston-born former Texas A&M Aggie.

It’d be tough for House to leave home, but the Celtics have a need for veterans on their bench considering the recent struggles from their own young second unit. If they would have blown Saturday night’s 25-point lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder, we may be more urgently talking about a move being made.

Instead, the Cs can take their time since House could eventually be bought out if his agent decides that it is best for him to get more time on the hardwood ahead of 2022 free agency. If, however, there is a trade market for him ahead of the trade deadline, Aaron Nesmith could be the most suitable trade piece for House.
