Boston Celtics vs. Oklahoma City Thunder prediction, odds, TV channel
Riding off the high of a blowout victory over their most heated historical rivals, the Boston Celtics are looking to get above .500 for the first time in 2021-22 on Saturday night with the Oklahoma City Thunder in town.
Knocking off the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night 130-108–in the return of LeBron James to the floor following an abdominal strain, no less–is a signature victory for the Cs early on in this season even if the Lakers are off to a comparably slow start to Boston.
Now, they are a heavy favorite over a Thunder team that is currently starting two rookies on the second night of a back-to-back.
How will the Cs fair on Saturday night? Hardwood Houdini breaks down the odds, TV streaming options, and predicts a winner:
Boston Celtics vs. Oklahoma City Thunder odds, spread, over/under
According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a nine-point favorite over the Thunder at home. OKC is a +350 road underdog, with the Cs moneyline set at -440. The over/under for the game has been placed at 205.5 points.
While Boston took care of business last night, it was the Thunder that were taken care of in Milwaukee against the defending champions. That said, OKC is off to a surprising 6-9 start considering their youth and lack of impact veterans on the roster.
Celtics vs. Thunder TV channel
Predictably, this is not a nationally televised game. In-market fans can watch the game on NBC Sports Boston or Fox Sports Oklahoma.
Celtics vs. Thunder prediction
Jaylen Brown is out, and Robert Williams is doubtful, so the Cs won’t be putting their best foot forward on Saturday night. That said, it is a legitimate question to be asked: do the Celtics need their best foot forward to beat this Thunder team?
The answer is probably no, making the ML a safe pick. But if Boston slips up and allows the Thunder to be competitive, it probably won’t be because the two teams are firing on all cylinders.
If anything, the two potentially tired teams could end up in a grind it out game that features some low scoring totals for everyone involved.
