With an up and down start leaving the team at 6-7, deciding on team awards for the Boston Celtics as of right now is quite difficult.

However, I will be attempting to do my best, and deciding on individual awards based on the NBA awards of most valuable player, defensive player of the year, sixth man of the year, and most improved player.

I won’t be doing rookie of year, the other individual NBA player award, since the C’s have no rookies playing this year as of now.

Here’s who I think are the current NBA award winners for the Boston Celtics, starting with MVP:

Boston Celtics MVP – Jaylen Brown

Despite missing a few games this season already, I’ve decided to go with Jaylen Brown as the most valuable player for Celtics, since he’s been so good in the games he’s played in.

Currently sitting at per-game averages of 26 points, six rebounds, and three assists on 49/40/78 shooting splits, Brown easily has been the C’s best all-around player on both ends so far, even if he’s been somewhat inconsistent (as the whole team has).

While other players have had significant impact in certain areas, like Al Horford on defense, Tatum and Schroder at times on offense, and Rob Williams catching lobs and blocking shots, no player has had the well-rounded impact that Brown has had on the C’s so far, which is why I’ve chosen him as the team’s current MVP despite missing the last few games.
