The Boston Celtics have been a massive disappointment through the first eight games of action in 2021-22, and their fanbase is not mincing words when it comes to their disdain.

The team’s worst start through this amount of exhibitions played since 2014, it’s evident that, should they not make some necessary shakeups soon, their campaign could very easily be lost well before mid-season what with their lackluster production shown thus far coupled with the vast improvements made by other squads found within the Eastern Conference standings.

While things certainly look bleak at this point in time, as we just alluded to hope has not yet dissipated for the shamrocks, for there’s still nearly five more months for them to get their act together and make proper adjustments.

To some, said adjustments can be made internally, be it through alterations to the rotation and coaching schemes to simply putting in more effort.

However, we at the Houdini, along with plenty of others believe that the C’s front office must look into making some moves via the trade market to bring on some much-needed extra talent to add to the rotation and, ultimately, to save their season.

Recently, we asked our followers on Twitter to share their thoughts on what players/ what positions they would like to see the Boston Celtics trade for at some point between now and this year’s deadline, and they gave us multiple options they’d love to see the team pursue:

Harrison Barnes and Terrence Ross have oft found themselves linked to the Boston Celtics throughout the past two seasons and, to this day, we at HH are still under the impression that they would be tremendous potential acquisitions for the team.

From the responses, other positions/ individuals fans seemingly would love to see the Cs pursue include starting point guard, floor spacers, and veteran presences.

A few options we believe could be worth monitoring moving forward are:

  • Potential starting point guard trade options:
    • Damian Lillard
    • Dejounte Murray
    • Collin Sexton
  • Potential floor spacer trade options:
    • Thaddeus Young
    • Christian Wood
    • Luke Kennard
    • Potential veteran presence trade options:
      • Thaddeus Young (he addresses many needs)
      • Robert Covington
      • Goran Dragic
      • As we move along through the season, we will continue to discuss ways in which the Boston Celtics can better position themselves for a successful campaign.

While there are certainly things that can be done internally to help improve their production, it’s rather obvious that the majority of people believe a sizeable move such as a trade must be executed to truly help turn around their season.
