Boston Celtics: 1 stud and 1 dud from C’s deflating loss to Chicago

Boston Celtics dud: Grant Williams
Just like we stated about Al Horford thus far this season, Grant Williams has been a rather consistent positive contributor for the Boston Celtics through the first seven games of action.
Against the Bulls, however, we believe he was the C’s biggest dud for, frankly, he did not put forth the type of production he has been this year and, without that, he essentially reverts back to being that same undersized forward with limited mobility, lacking isolation abilities, and minimal upside.
In over 12 minutes of action, the third-year forward finished the game with a stat line of five rebounds, two assists, and zero points on 0-2 shooting from the floor.
Coming into the year, we at HH believed that Williams could be the odd man out of Boston’s rotation, as it was perceived that the four position was filled with more well-seasoned talents.
However, the 22-year-old managed to work his way into being one of the team’s most trusty role players after showing out during the early parts of the year, specifically in the shooting department where he shot 50 percent from deep and was averaging nearly 10 points per game coming into their latest against Chicago.
Monday turned out not to be like most games, and we were reminded of the limitations in which Williams has as a player when he’s not taking and making his shots.
