Boston Celtics takeaway No. 3) Aaron Nesmith is not living up to expectations

Coming into the season, Boston Celtics fans believed second-year wing Aaron Nesmith would be a breakout player and become a reliable contributor for this ball club.

So far this season, he has been trending in the wrong direction.

It is of course far too early in the year to write him off, but it is still something worth mentioning.

Through three games of action, Nesmith has scored zero points and is ice cold from 3-point range.

From the end of last season to the end of preseason, the former lottery selection showed tremendous growth in his shot-making and confidence when putting the ball on the floor.

The 22-year-old was playing so well that fans of the franchise believed he could be a potential candidate for one of the starting spots.

Jaylen Brown was ruled out of Sunday night’s game due to injury, and it was a perfect opportunity for him to remind fans why they were so excited for his development.

Unfortunately, the second-year wing missed on all four of his shot attempts in just under twelve minutes of action.

Although he has struggled to make an impact thus far, expect Nesmith to figure things out over the course of the season and live up to his expectations.
