Boston Celtics target No. 2) Marvin Bagley III

What once was bad has gotten even worse for the NBA’s worst run franchise, as the relationship between the Sacramento Kings and former No. 2 overall pick, Marvin Bagley III, has turned out so poorly that, just recently the forward’s agency took to Twitter to make a public statement about the team’s decision to leave him out of the rotation for their opening night matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Now, this is not the first time we’ve heard about Bagley’s camp wanting him out of Sacramento, and until the deed is officially done, this will certainly not be the last and, throughout all the madness that likely is to come, we believe the Boston Celtics should consider the idea of possibly looking to buy-low on the fourth-year big.

Throughout his three-year tenure in Sacramento, the 22-year-old has proven to be a quality starting big man who can score in post and out in the mid-range with ease and has even showcased some improved floor spacing abilities as well, converting on 34 percent from deep on 2.5 attempts per game last season

Bagley finished off the 2020-21 campaign averaging 14.1 points and 7.4 boards on 50 percent shooting from the floor whilst predominantly slotting in at power forward which, as we all know, is a position of need for the Boston Celtics.

A big-bodied presence (6-11 with a 7-1 wingspan) with plenty of untapped potential, should he be placed on the block, the C’s front office should strongly consider pursuing him on a low-end offer.
