Boston Celtics Takeaway No. 2) Ime Udoka’s imprint is already noticeable

Ime Udoka made it clear that he was putting a heavy emphasis on team basketball. His players seemed to buy into his philosophy based on their results in the season opener.

The Boston Celtics finished the game with 34 assists on 48 made baskets which equaled about a 70 percent assist rate

The Cs finished last season ranked 27th in assists and struggled to get going offensively at times because of it.

Udoka wants to play team basketball and find ways to generate easy offense and lessen the offensive burden on his two star players.

Boston doesn’t quite look like the Golden State Warriors during their five-year title run but it is an encouraging development thus far and one to keep an eye on moving forward.

The Celtics did turn the ball over 18 times, which is definitely concerning, but this will hopefully get cleaned up as the season goes on.

If the Boston Celtics can manage to clean up the turnovers and continue to learn what Udoka’s style of team basketball is, they could become one of the league’s best, most efficient offenses.
