Wednesday’s 2021-22 regular-season tip-off between the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks truly can only be described with one word — wow!

A tight contest throughout that saw a plethora of lead changes and high-end drama, this game had virtually everything a fan could possibly want: incredible plays on both ends of the ball, double overtime, historic individual performances, etc.

While Cs fans obviously would have preferred to have seen their favorite ball club pull out the win in the season opener, it’s hard to argue that game one wasn’t an impressive showing for the shamrocks.

The final score read 138-134, which was the highest combined scoring outing they’ve taken part in since April of last year and the first double-overtime game they’ve played in since February of 2020.

Again, though the Cs ultimately did not wind up coming away from the night with a victory, there were plenty of things that both spectators and, more importantly, the coaching staff can take away where, after that, they can either look to have them continued or obviously, built upon/ fixed up.

Despite having seen a rather deep rotation being run out during the preseason, rookie headman Ime Udoka only used nine of his 15 players.

Of the bunch, there were several guys who showed out during their time on the hardwood, with some even outperforming initial expectations.

On the flip side, however, though there weren’t many, some players actually dropped the ball a bit in Boston’s regular-season debut.

Today, we pinpoint one stud and one dud from Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks:
