Boston Celtics trade target No. 2) Mo Bamba

Forever and always we find ourselves pleading with the front office of the Boston Celtics to look into trading for the likes of Mo Bamba and until he’s either listed as an “untouchable” or traded elsewhere, we will continue talking about this exact concept.

Even with the fact that we believe one of the biggest strengths for this year’s shamrocks squad is their center depth, looking into buying low on a guy of Bamba’s potential is a great long-term idea to consider pursuing.

At 7-0 with a 7-10 wingspan, the former sixth overall pick has the build that would allow him to dominate down low during virtually any period in the league while boasting a skill set that could allow him to dominate during today’s floor-spacing era.

The only problem that the big man has faced thus far into his career has been finding himself amongst other young and talented bigs looking to prove themselves within the Orlando Magic frontcourt however, when he has received more playing time on the hardwood, he has only managed to excel.

Just last season, for example, when receiving 20-29 minutes, Bamba found himself posting 13.3 points, eight rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game on 49 percent shooting from the floor and 38 percent shooting from deep.

Now, in the preseason, he’s also showing off his all around skill set, posting 12 points, 7.6 boards, and 3.3 blocks per game on 57 percent shooting from the floor and 40 percent shooting from deep.

With the Magic’s frontcourt still rather piled up, their need to bolster many other areas on their roster, and their desire to stockpile draft picks during their rebuild, perhaps they could opt to shop their oft underused center and, should they go down this route, the Boston Celtics should strongly consider dialing the phone to either have him split time at the five with Robert Williams III or have him transition into a potential long-term option at the four.
