Boston Celtics stud: Romeo Langford

Coming into the night, it was already established that two key figures within this year’s Boston Celtics rotation in Jaylen Brown and Dennis Schroder would be sidelined due to COVID-19 and a knee contusion, respectively.

Because of this, many were left guessing what Ime Udoka would opt to do in an effort to midgate these losses within the lineup.

Much to our surprise, the first-year head man went on to slot third-year wing, Romeo Langford at the two-guard in place of Brown, and, in turn, he put forth perhaps one of his best showings whilst donning the green and white threads.

Through nearly 19 minutes of action, the 21-year-old went on to post a stat line of 13 points and two rebounds on a stellar 83 percent shooting from the floor and 75 percent shooting from downtown.

Not only did he showcase the high-end defensive potential that helped make him become a lottery selection back in the 2019 NBA Draft but, for the second game in a row, Langford managed to shoot the ball from deep at a rather consistent clip, which was an area of his game that was viewed as a clear weakness throughout his first two seasons in the association.

Now yes, two preseason games is a bit too small of a sample size to have us now believe that Langford could be a true difference-maker within Boston’s core rotation during this coming campaign.

That said, coming into the season we viewed the youngster as a player worth watching through training camp and during the preseason.

Through these two games, he has only strengthened our reasoning as to why we view Langford as such an intriguing part of Boston’s roster heading into 2021-22.
