Boston Celtics target No. 1) Chris Boucher

Though Chris Boucher may not be finding himself suiting up in tonight’s matchup against the Boston Celtics, for he is expected to be out for the next three weeks to a month after undergoing a procedure on his finger earlier this week, fans of the ball club should still have his name in mind moving forward as a possible in-season target.

Recently listed as a potential option to use their $9.7M Tristan Thompson TPE on, the big man could prove to be a quality grab for the C’s front office at some point this season, especially if the price is right.

Last season, Boucher went on to post career-bests all across the board, putting up impressive averages of 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game on 51 percent shooting from the floor and 38 percent shooting from deep.

Despite his sound production, however, we could easily find the power forward placed on the trade block this season due to the fact that he’ll be turning 29 this coming January and the Raptors are seemingly embarking on a youth movement after their franchise player, Kyle Lowry, took his talents to South Beach to join the Miami Heat.

Acquiring Boucher by means of the traded player exception could wind up benefiting the Celtics in a multitude of ways, for it would give them a legitimate power forward who can help space the floor, protect the paint, and help keep franchise cornerstone, Jayson Tatum, at his more natural position of small forward rather than having him continue to play significant minutes at the four.

Though perhaps fans may not be able to scout the big man tonight, they could focus their attention on other players at the position for, should younger guys like Precious Achiuwa, OG Anunoby, and Yuta Watanabe show out, it could make the idea of Toronto placing Boucher on the block that much more plausible.
