Boston Celtics fighting for a spot in the rotation: Enes Kanter

As of now, both Robert Williams and Al Horford should be ahead of Enes Kanter in the rotation. There’s a high probability that he doesn’t get much playing time.

Last year, Kanter was a double-double machine for the Portland Trail Blazers. He even managed to notch a 30-rebound game for them at one point.

However, he has continuously struggled on the defensive side of the ball. Most people believe that that is the reason why he won’t earn many minutes in Udoka’s rotations.

If he can show improvements on that side of the floor, then maybe he’ll have the chance to get regular minutes. However, with the talent ahead of him, he’s more likely just a third-string type of guy.

Boston Celtics fighting for a spot in the rotation: Sam Hauser

Sam Hauser didn’t even get playing time in the first Boston Celtics preseason game, so that’s already not a great sign. However, despite being a two-way player, there’s still a chance Hauser could get some playing time this year.

The C’s signed Hauser to a two-way contract after he went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft. His main draw as a player is his ability to shoot the ball.

In his four years of college, Hauser shot above 40% from deep in each and every season. That would be a huge help to the Celtics’ bench.

If he can get a chance to play this preseason and subsequently shoot the ball well, he could earn some regular minutes. Being a two-way player holds him back a bit, but he still has the chance to earn playing time.
