Bradley Beal has found himself in hot water in recent days, but where he may not find himself in 2021-22 is in a Boston Celtics uniform.

Chowder and Champions’ Owen Crisafulli isn’t exactly sold he’ll leave the only franchise he’s ever known, the Washington Wizards.

Crisafulli references Beal’s rebuff of Russell Westbrook’s request to seek a trade alongside him this past offseason.

That, as he explains, could signal the possibility of Beal sticking around at least through the 2022 offseason, where he’d be a free agent:

"…for those of you who were still holding out for a potential Beal trade, it’s probably time to concede defeat for the time being. Maybe something will happen at the trade deadline, or Beal hits free agency and the Celtics convince him to give it a run with Tatum and Brown. But until then, the Boston Celtics pursuit of Bradley Beal appears to be over."

Beal stuck with the Wizards, and it may pay off. Washington added a few key players to an already promising core. Even if many of them are overpaid.

Spencer Dinwiddie surviving last season’s ACL tear and remaining at the same level of production would be give D.C. a suitable John Wall replacement, while Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were good value adds in the Westbrook trade.

Davis Bertans is one-dimensional and highly-compensated, but his 3-point shooting opens up the floor around that core. Thomas Bryant and Montrezl Harrell should suffice in the frontcourt with their physicality.

Washington could most certainly be back in a NBA Play-in spot, but if Rui Hachimura and Deni Avdija could take another step forward, their ambitions may be grander.

Time will tell, though. Perhaps things change drastically and Beal trade talks are back on. Brad Stevens has proven capable of coming from the clouds and making something seismic happen.
