#2 Boston Celtics training camp invite: Ryan Arcidiacono

The former Chicago Bulls backup floor general was unable to land a guaranteed deal in the summer, and Brad Stevens could be the direct beneficiary of that decision by the league’s other 29 front offices.

Arcidiacono is a sweet-shooting combo guard that can knock down the open 3-pointer but has trouble creating for his teammates.

Truly, he doesn’t offer anything Payton Pritchard can’t grow into, and the 2020 first-round pick has probably already surpassed Arcidiacono. But the Villanova product is far from the worst 15th man you can find.

#1 Boston Celtics training camp invite: Garrison Mathews

While one might mention Sam Hauser as a reason why Garrison Mathews is somewhat redundant on this Boston roster, the reality is there can never be enough shooting in your lineup.

Especially when said lineup revolves around the dominant isolation talents of guys like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who methodically do their damage in space.

Mathews helps create more of that almighty NBA currency with his career 39% conversion rate from beyond the arc.

If anyone is likely to stick with the Cs following training camp cuts, our money is on Mathews because if anything, he is what the franchise is hoping Hauser will end up being anyway. You can’t go wrong with two similar players cut from that cloth.
