This offseason, the front office for the Boston Celtics made it a point to try and address their biggest weaknesses within the rotation. They went about this by loading up their center position with depth and adding some much-needed scorers for their bench unit.

That said, despite the fact that they clogged up quite a few holes as a result of their offseason transactions, the Cs still find themselves coming into the year with varying imperfections with one, in specific, being viewed as perhaps their most glaring weakness.

According to the folks at Bleacher Report, of all the aspects of the C’s rotation that could use some tweaking, it is believed that finding veterans to have on their bench is their top necessity, as they appear to have lacking experience coming off the pine.

Citing the fact that the majority of their bench is compiled of first, second, or third-year players, writer Greg Swartz believes that this could lead to some serious problems when the starters look to take a breather. That said, Swartz made it clear that, thanks to their numerous TPEs, a solution to this weakness may not be so difficult to come by:

"There’s plenty of talent, but who among Romeo Langford, Payton Pritchard, Aaron Nesmith and Grant Williams is ready to help the Celtics win games right now?The Celtics once again will enter the season with a massive trade exception ($17.1 million, via the Evan Fournier to New York Knicks sign-and-trade), and have others valued at $9.7 million (via Tristan Thompson) and $5.1 million (via Kemba Walker). That gives the new front office led by Brad Stevens plenty of options to add some veteran talent without having to send back salary in return."

We at HH are certainly on the same page with B/R, and have been stating that the Boston Celtics should be looking to acquire veterans with their TPEs or even simply on the open market for quite some time now for this very reason.

Though we believe there are a number of players who could actually prove to have massive roles whilst coming off the bench for the shamrocks this year, ultimately, having them bring on some more veteran talents could help the secondary unit reach its full potential.

Using one of these trade exceptions is one way of getting this done.
