While Boston Celtics fans would be thrilled to see their team working out former MVP candidate Isaiah Thomas, that sentiment isn’t shared by other franchises.

Like Golden State Warriors fans, for example.

Thomas has been linked to the Dubs along with former champion with Golden State Quinn Cook and Avery Bradley. The team had already worked out retired floor general Darren Collison and is looking to add two guards and a big man to their training camp roster.

Count Blue Man Hoop’s Nathan Beighle as someone who is out on the idea of Thomas playing in the Bay Area this season:

"There’s no reason the Warriors need to add another player that’s incapable defensively. They need to build a second unit that can maintain a lead, and for now, that shouldn’t be one that includes Thomas. His main threat as a player is that he can go out and score with ease. He’s failed to so efficiently in the recent past. Over the last three seasons, Thomas has played in just 55 games. That’s concerning in and of itself as he’s struggled to stay on a roster. On top of that, over that span of time, Thomas has failed to hit 40 percent of his attempts."

Defense will never be a strong suit for the five-foot-nine messiah, and Beighle isn’t even wrong for questioning whether or not he can still be a dominant scorer considering all of the injuries he has piled up over the years. Being consistently out of the lineup takes a toll on a shooter’s rhythm.

Thomas will always have more allure to Boston Celtics fans who have fond memories of his two-and-a-half year stint in green.

That said, if he says he’s healthier than he has been, then Golden State may end up with a gem if they take a chance on Thomas to be the backup floor general to Steph Curry.
