How Zach LaVine would help the Boston Celtics: Offensive support

Last season, the Boston Celtics only had two forms of offense – Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. When they dealt with injuries, it meant that they only had one guy to go to.

With LaVine on the team, opposing defenses wouldn’t be able to focus on Tatum and Brown as much. They would be able to have another player on offense to run through.

Kemba Walker was supposed to be that person last year, but with his injuries, he was unable to play the role the Celtics wanted him to. Just two seasons ago, both Walker and Gordon Hayward were 20-point-per game scorers.

For the past few seasons, LaVine has been the number one option in Chicago. While he wouldn’t be that in Boston, he would still have a huge role on offense.

Since the Celtics have had recent success with multiple 20-point-per-game scorers, there’s no reason they couldn’t with LaVine. They would be one of the most elite Big 3s in the league.

When Tatum and Brown are on the floor LaVine would be able to give them some extra help. More importantly, he would be able to give them some support if there were any unforeseen injuries.

Could this team be Isaiah Thomas' next move?. dark. Next
