How Zach LaVine would help the Boston Celtics: An extra shooter

Zach LaVine is so much more than just a shooter, but that would be one of his primary roles in Boston. The Celtics are always looking to put more shooting around their stars, and LaVine would certainly provide that.

As mentioned, LaVine nearly joined the 50/40/90 club last year. Only nine players in NBA history have ever achieved that milestone.

For the past couple of seasons, one of the biggest issues with the Celtics was a lack of shooters surrounding Tatum and Brown. They have had some inconsistent shooters such as Semi Ojeleye and Kemba Walker (last season), but LaVine would help with that.

He would provide more skills than just his shooting, but it would definitely be a huge boost for the C’s. LaVine would be one of the best floor spacers in the NBA for Boston.

Not to say that LaVine is the player that Klay Thompson is, but he could play a similar role in Boston. He’s more of a shot creator than Thompson, but he could excel in a role like Thompson’s.

During his time with the Bulls, LaVine has emerged as one of the most elite shooters in the league. If the Celtics utilized him as a catch-and-shoot guy he might be able to thrive.

Obviously, there would be more opportunities for LaVine to create for himself. That being said, his shooting would help the Celtics more than any of his other skills.
