Low-key great Boston Celtics target No. 3) Thaddeus Young

Of all areas within the rotation that need to be addressed, power forward is perhaps at the top of the list for the Boston Celtics.

As things currently stand, the team will likely be rolling out Jayson Tatum as their starting four which, though it has proven to work rather well in the past (averaged 23.4 points, seven boards, and just shy of a block on over 40 percent shooting from the field when he last manned the position in 2019-20) his more natural position (and preferred one at that) is at the three.

Because of this, Stevens and co. should strongly consider bringing on a player at this position, and we believe Thaddeus Young would be a great grab.

One of the better 3-and-D bigs in the game today, Young was recently traded to the San Antonio Spurs to help facilitate the multi-team deal that sent DeMar DeRozan to Chicago.

Now with the Spurs looking as though they could embark on a full-on youth movement, the 33-year-old power forward could soon be on the chopping, and the Celtics should be seriously interested in attaining him if he is.

The 14-year veteran is a multi-faceted talent that could help come in and properly facilitate within an offense (dished out 6.4 assists per 75 possessions last season), defend multiple positions, and dependably get buckets (shoots at an average of just over 50 percent for his career).

Just last season, the big man posted per-game averages of 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.1 steals on 56 percent shooting from the field.

As we alluded to earlier, the Boston Celtics could seriously use for some bolstering at the power forward position and, should he become available — which many expect him to at some point this season — they could find a quality option in Thaddeus Young at a reletively low price to come in and either backup Tatum or serve in the starting five alongside him.
