With what we’ve seen from Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens so far in his new seat, it’s fair to say that there will be plenty of more player movement between now and the trade deadline next February if the Cs are anything but the top team in the NBA record-wise.

Stevens has rid the team of players that were making an exorbitant amount or weren’t contributing at the end of the bench. There could be more moves made this offseason even with training camp set to open up in a few weeks.

More than likely, the trade deadline will serve as the next time when the Cs will be active on the trade market.

Chowder and Champions’ Tarringo Basile-vaughan listed some targets that could be available, and we wouldn’t be Hardwood Houdini if we didn’t play a little pass or pursue on the names he mentioned:

Boston Celtics trade deadline target #1: Joe Ingles

The Utah Jazz looked like the team to beat in the Western Conference last season before they were, well, beat, in the west semifinals against a Los Angeles Clippers team missing Kawhi Leonard from the lineup.

Given that two straight years have come and gone where the Jazz vastly underperformed after a promising regular season doesn’t bode well for their core moving forward.

Joe Ingles is the best piece to pursue from the fire sale if Utah underperforms to begin the 2021-22 season and isn’t in a position to contend. Ingles just shot 45% from the 3-point line in over six attempts per game while averaging a shade under five assists.

That’d be a smooth fit in the C’s lineup wherever Ime Udoka would put him.

Verdict: Pursue
