#4 free agency steal: Kendrick Nunn goes for the MLE to the Los Angeles Lakers

Kendrick Nunn was a backcourt starter for the Miami Heat in 2019-20 for much of the regular season. While he didn’t play a vital role in their NBA Finals run in the Lake Buena Vista bubble, with Goran Dragic taking the reigns as the starting floor general, he still followed that disappointing season up with a 14.6 PPG season.

The Lakers got good value on a few minimum deals this offseason (Carmelo Anthony, Wayne Ellington, Rajon Rondo) but Nunn stands out as the biggest steal relative to what he could have gotten.

#3 free agency steal: Otto Porter signs minimum deal for Golden State Warriors

It was shocking to see Otto Porter settle for a one-year minimum deal, especially for a team that missed the postseason two years in a row.

That said, Porter’s union with the Dubs shows that Steph Curry still has pull as a superstar guys will take a pay cut to play with. It also gives the Warriors a chance to overcome the early-season loss of Klay Thompson, who is still recovering from an Achilles tear.
